Today was the last day of school in Westport Connecticut! The kids are excited and the parents - well, it’s a mixed bag. I know that I am now filling in the blanks, if you will.

My kids are already registered for the camps/activities that they really wanted to do. But there are still large chunks of free time in their schedules. Now it is a fine balance between over and under scheduling. But I don’t want the summer to turn into a video game free for all. So I figure a little scheduled activity that gets us out and about is a good thing.

I will be mentioning some good, local, summer camp options in and about Westport Connecticut over the next few days. Westport Public Schools are on a 2 hour delay today, Wednesday June 11, 2008. Due to last night’s storm, there are many downed tree limbs blocking various roads so buses cannot pass. For more information call the Westport School District hotline at (203) 341 - 1SNO.

Pinnocchio: The Musical is coming to a town near Westport Connecticut! Presented by the Connecticut Family Theatre and Sacred Heart University’s Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts Pinocchio: The Musical is a wonderful show for children of all ages.

The Music Shop will be performed by the Connecticut Opera for children in grades 3 to 12. This performance is free and is a wonderful introduction to the world and art of opera.
